June Andrea Jeffreys

June Andrea Jeffreys transitioned on November 11, 2020. She was preceded in transition by her Father James Barnett; Mother Vivian Ward Smith Barnett; her Sister Luise Smith Wise; Husband Bobby Jeffreys; Aunt June Harper and Uncle Henry Harper.

She is survived by her loving Partner Richard Days of New York; First Cousin Walthall Moore of Arizona; Nieces Lavonne Wise with Partner Nancy Proctor of US Virgin Islands, LaJune Wise-Wilkerson of North Carolina and Letitia Wise of Georgia; Grandnephews Stephen Wilkerson, Benjamin Callahan and Aaron Wilkerson; Great grandniece Kaiyia Wilkerson; Cousins Lisa Kossman and Monique Moore and dear friends too numerous to mention.

June was a lively, creative woman with a great sense of humor. June loved her family and friends dearly and had a great gift of making each of us feel special. She would tune in to your individual personality, goals, dreams and talents providing the guidance and or support one needed to excel. She loved crochet and jewelry making.

After an early career in financial services, June dedicated the last 30 years of her life to the Girl Scouts of America. She enjoyed teaching young girls to make jewelry while helping them to build self-confidence and self-esteem within themselves. She enjoyed visiting the home of the founder of the Girl Scouts, Juliette Gordon Lowe House in Savannah, Georgia. Affectionately known as “The Cookie Lady” in the New York City Rangel Houses Community, June also served as a former Tenants Association President.

A memorial service is tentatively scheduled for March 2021. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to the Girls Scouts of America in underserved neighborhoods or to the Women’s Coalition of St. Croix at wcstx.org.
