Elizabeth Eula Beckles Garnes was born in Christ Church, St. Phillips Parish, Barbados, BWI on June 15, 1921 to Joseph and Maslin Beckles.
She spent her childhood years in Barbados. However, her family sent her to New York City. She completed her education at Mable Dean Bacon High School specializing in secretarial skills.
She worked for many years in the Bronx Surrogate's Court until her retirement.
She enjoyed residing in Concourse Village (Bronx). She and her husband, Lloyd, were among the first residents.
She is predeceased by her husband, Lloyd Garnes and her son, Randy Beckles.
She is survived by nephews, nieces, cousins, grandnephews and grandnieces, and great-grandnephews and great-grandnieces.
