Malik E. Taylor

Licensed Funeral Director

Malik E. Taylor has been of service to the community since high school. His first job, working in his family's funeral home, reinforced for him that people from all walks of life deserve to be treated with the utmost professionalism and sensitivity, particularly when coping with loss and dealing with loved ones. Malik also had a great appreciation for technology during that time and was selected as one of the youngest computer instructors for the Community Outreach Technology Initiative of the New York Public Library (NYPL) to teach computer skills to residents in local branches of Central Harlem and Washington Heights.

Malik continued his pursuits in technology, earning a Bachelor’s of Science and Master’s, both specializing in areas of information technology. Fortunate to acquire a range of internship experiences throughout his college career with government agencies to Fortune 500 companies, he focused on the financial sector upon graduation. A few years later, Malik decided to fill his void of serving the community by transitioning to the non-profit industry where he leveraged his skills and knowledge directly to the youth and young adults of East Harlem.

After nearly a decade spent bolstering and empowering young adults, Malik decided to continue his education and outreach in the funeral service industry. He is a Magna Cum Laude graduate of the American Academy McAllister Institute of Funeral Service (AAMI), a New York State Funeral Director's Award recipient, a Mu Sigma Alpha Award recipient, and has now returned full circle to his family’s business, as a third generation Funeral Director.
